Consider Visiting a Pharmacist

There are a number of pharmacies near the surgery that can provide advice and issue medication which is available on prescription (free to you if you do not pay for your prescriptions or at the usual cost of a prescription if you pay). This scheme is called Pharmacy First and will mean that you do not need to book a doctor or a nurse appointment with us which will save you a lot of time. Please note that you will be asked to provide your NHS number.

Types of conditions that can be treated by a Pharmacist or at the Boots Walk In Centre include:

  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Fever
  • Painful periods
  • Hayfever

  • Insect bites and stings
  • Headaches
  • Migraine

  • Sore throat
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Minor sunburn
  • Emergency contraception
  • Tension
  • Thrush
  • Cold sores
  • Scabies
